Pupils have again gained exceedingly high marks in their dance examinations taken back in June and July, with pupils gaining top marks in the highest of the examinations awarded.

In the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet examinations, pupils gained the following results;

DISTINCTION – Emily Breeze – grade 4, Cora Drummond, Georgina Rudd, Ellie Cameron, Victoria Riley & Hannah Breeze – grade 5, Lexy Bee & Hannah Dawson – grade 6. (Cora Drummond received 92% for her grade 5)

MERIT awarded to Amabel Porter & Charlotte Mossman – grade 4, Honey Hughes, Jemma Thew, Hannah Taylor & Jessica Conroy – grade 5 (all were high marks with some just missing the distinction mark) Merryn Hughes & Jessica Dobson – grade 6 and Merryn Hughes who also took her Intermediate Foundation ballet examination.

Caitlin Brown & Kristin Thompson also received high percentage Merits for their Advanced Foundation Ballet Examination and are the first pupils to take this new examination.

In the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Modern theatre, Tap and Jazz examinations, pupils were awarded the following results;

DISTINCTION: Modern – Isobel Gray, Lana Ferguson – Wood, Lizzie Conn, Olivia Wright, Carly Hope, Tamsin Hutton – Stott, Imogen Brown, Grace Bell, Marina Swift & Freya Bridges – grade 1. Conor Davis, Conor Knox & Ethan Knox – grade 3. Caitlin Brown & Ryan Duncan – advanced 2.
Tap – Martha Embleton, Emily Gray & Hope Vernon – grade 2, Caitlin Brown, Ryan Ducan & Kristin Thompson – advanced 2.

MERIT: Modern – Millie Redhead, Francesca Watkinson, Freya Mole & Isabella Chopping – grade 1. Antonia Johnson, Sophie Mole & Kayleigh Ramshaw – grade 3. Sophie Walker – Intermediate.
TAP – Dhani Hooker & Ailsa Powell – grade 3.
JAZZ – Emma Forsyth & Philippa Wellden – bronze.

Students who have now graduated from AAD to study full time in dance colleges around the country are: Tyler Angus – Bird College, Ryan Ducan – London Studio Centre, Bronwen Stout – Morea Performing Arts and Caitlin Brown now studies all further dance and dance teaching examinations at Merseyside Dance & Drama Centre. Kristin Thompson is at university in London.

AAD students Dan Hope and Jack Greaves are performing in musicals – Dan now plays the lead role of ‘Boq’ in Wicked at London’s Apollo Theatre, while Jack is in Germany in the Lloyd – Webber musical Starlight Express’.
